Technology has changed the face of distance learning. From the mailbox to the internet, distance learning has gone through transformations that have made it what it is today. The print aspect of distance learning is still ever present because of the need to ensure that the student can read and write.
Distraction can come in various forms and is often a temptation that all students face, especially distance learning students. If you are the type that gets easily distracted, an online distance learning program may not be for you. Online distance learning programs demand a large degree of concentration to be of any good to a student.
Distance education is specially designed for those who find it difficult or impossible to physically be in college. They can go online to apply for courses of their choice in the very schools that they want to attend. Then they can sit back and enjoy correspondence via various media from the comfort of their living rooms.
Super fraudsters have been quick to see fresh opportunities presented by distance learning programs online. Because of increasing demand, a lot of people are desperate to study further, but lack the time to actually be in school. Because of limited funds, many settle for cheaper courses with little-known institutions and end up conned out of their hard-earned cash for a piece of paper worth nothing.
2006′s report by the Sloan Consortium stipulated that almost all of the largest colleges and universities in America were online offering distance learning courses. Well over 3 million students also took these courses during the previous year. These figures show an obvious rise in interest by the general public in distance education, a trend that most schools around the world are beginning to tap into.
Although distance learning has tackled a lot of problems in its long history, there is one problem that it is not going to deal with too soon. This is the issue of examination malpractices, or simply, writing tests under controlled conditions. There is no easy way to guarantee that, so the schools and colleges play by ear as each year and each program comes.
Distance learning is devoid of the classroom setting. You can partake of a distance learning program in your home or during your lunch break. Distance learning is not determined by your position on the global map.
Good study habits, determination and focus are all ingredients that can help to make you stand out in your distance learning program. Bear in mind that the minute you take distance learning for granted, you will fail.

Learning Latin with Virgil is a new and original Latin video series. I hope to bring you engaging, effective and regular lessons to enhance your knowledge and enjoyment of Latin. In this series, the emphasis is on understanding the Latin you read, not on translating it. The course centers around the characters and the stories of the great epic work of Virgil, the Aeneid. You may like to check out the sister series, The Aeneid of Virgil, also available on the TuTubusLatinus channel.
Help answer the question about Learning History
What is a good source for learning about the history of knights?I've always liked knights and anything related to knights. I would like to be educated more in the history of *real* knights (not tales). Can anyone recommend a good source for reading and learning more about knights throughout history?
Thanks!

What a freaking SNOB!! “OH, the tourists are ruining the circles for us researchers!” _You’ve been researching crop circles for 20 years and heven’t been able to figure out JACK!, so we need exclusive access for another twenty years so we can say we don’t know jack again. Crop circles are for everyone, not some snotty psuedo-scientists.
Talking to people who lived during different periods of history can give a personal aspect of what went on during that time. Their perception of the events will give you a whole new look on history other than what is written in the books. I think it is way more interesting!
